7-9 January 2025 – SEA-H2X Submarine Cable Consortium Convenes Routine Meeting in Kuala Lumpur
The SEA H2X Submarine Cable Consortium held its routine meeting from January 7 to January 9, 2025 ,Pavillion Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Representatives from major stakeholders, including China Mobile International Limited (CMI), China Unicom Global (CUG), Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions, Inc. (Converge), AP SEA H2X Sdn. Bhd. (AP SEA H2X), and HMN Technologies Co., Limited (HMN Tech), are set to participate. The meeting is hosted by consortium member AP SEA-H2X.（Sonia Satellite Services Sdn. Bhd.）
2023 Key Events – Deputy Director of the Malaysian Space Agency visited China
In August 2023, the Deputy Director of the Malaysian Space Agency visited China, and the delegation visited the BeiDou Project under NORINCO group, from Kuala Lumpur to Shanghai, Hefei, Changchun and Beijing, visiting the BeiDou system’s ground base station network, the BeiDou Industrial Park, the satellite research, development and manufacturing base, and the Beijing headquarters.

In September 2023, NORINCO made a return visit, the company and its delegations arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching in East Malaysia, visited the embassy and consulate, Malaysian Federal Government’s Space Agency, the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, and the Sarawak government, to conduct in-depth discussions on the project cooperation.

KUCHING, June 7: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy visit from the delegation of Sonia Satellite Services Sdn Bhd at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Thursday (June 6). According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Sonia Satellite Services Sdn Bhd specialises in providing advanced telecommunication solutions, focuses on satellite tracking, communications telemetry and radar station operations, while also conducting research and development in engineering and technology. Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication, Jafri Lias, was also in attendance.
