BeiDou navigation constellation

Secure, real-time positioning and navigation for land, sea and air applications. The BDS-3 system has operated globally since July 2020 on a 30-satellite nominal design of 3 GEO, 3 IGSO and 24 MEO spacecraft, with 48 satellites in operation across generations per the 2024 CSNO report.

Distinctive services include the PPP-B2b high-precision service, decimetre-level kinematic and centimetre-level static positioning across the Asia-Pacific region, and two-way RDSS short-message communication, a capability GPS does not offer.

Tianqi is a Chinese low Earth orbit narrowband IoT constellation operated by Beijing Guodian Gaoke, designed for devices that need small, resilient data links far beyond cellular coverage.
